The National Women's Business Council and Women Impacting Public Policy request your participation at a half-day Summit to discuss the barriers women business owners face accessing capital in today's lending environment. We hope you will join this discussion bringing together financial services providers, primary and secondary lenders, policy officials, corporate leaders, women business owners, and leaders from the women's business community to provide the recommendations for actionable change that will release the flow of capital to women-owned firms.

2:00 pm – 2:30 pm Economic Impact Survey Release: Fueling Job Creation

A discussion of newly released data identifying motivations of women-owned businesses and their employment decisions, including an analysis of what is necessary to ensure women business owners reach their full economic potential as employer firms

2:30 pm – 3:00 pm Access to Capital Legislative Update

Congressional policy experts discuss the latest legislative activities impacting the small business community's access to financing sources

3:00 pm – 3:15 pm BREAK

3:15 pm – 5:00 pm Roundtable Discussions

Attendees discuss remedies to ease the flow of capital to women-owned firms and ways to fuel the economic potential of women-owned enterprises. Discussion topics to run concurrently; participants select one of the following:

Innovating the SBA Loan Process: What works, what doesn't,  and what needs to be done to improve SBA lending programs
 
Building an Effective Financial Solution Network:

Establishing synergies among the lending community and the entrepreneurial training and technical support services for WBEs

Bridging the Financial Literacy Gap: Exploring ways to better  prepare WBEs on securing capital and educating them on alternative lending sources
 
Expansion Through Equity Capital: Identifying the obstacles for WBEs seeking equity investments and proposing remedies to overcome these challenges
 
Harnessing The Power of Politics: Discussion of the chief legislative policies holding small businesses back and the actions needed to remedy these concerns
 

Addressing International Financing Impediments:

Recommending financial solutions to facilitate women business enterprise global expansion

Attendees will hear from roundtable facilitators about the top two themes emerging from each table discussion (Open mic)
