Anniversary of International Women's Day with CARE!
March 8, 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day. This is
an important opportunity to recognize the amazing women who inspire you the
most in your own community and around the world. It is also the perfect time to
stand together in solidarity with women and girls who still do not have chance
to reach their full potential.
We invite WIPP members around the country to celebrate this historic occasion
together by joining us at the 2011 CARE Conference & International Women's
Day Celebration, March 8-10, in Washington, DC. You will:
- connect with other members of CARE partner groups, global leaders,
and special guests to recognize the achievements of women around the
- engage in interactive workshops about global women's empowerment, and
hear from notable speakers including Mrs. Laura W. Bush, former first lady of
the United States, and Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates
- meet with your own members of Congress to advocate for U.S. policies that
support women's economic opportunity, girls' education, and other key global
