Our monthly educational speaker series and dinner happens monthly on the 2nd Thursday of every month in San Francisco from 5:30PM - 8:00PM. It is an evening of education, great food, drinks and an amazing opportunity to meet with some of the Bay Area's most influential businesswomen. Would you like to Join Us?

Join us for our next Educational Speaker Series and Dinner at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5:30PM-8:00PM.

Our Special Speaker and Topic is

Cheese, Bread and Wine:
A few of the women behind the Bay Area's holy trinity

with Jill Giacomini Basch, Carol Levalley, Peggy Smith, and Joy Sterling

Join us for a delicious evening as we learn from four women behind some of the Bay Area's most beloved artisanal specialty food & wine brands. Jill Giacomini Basch of Point Reyes
Farmstead Cheese Company, Carol Levally of Rustic Bakery, Peggy Smith of Cowgirl Creamery and Joy Sterling of Ironhorse Vineyards will present their stories conversation-style.

For starters, they'll cover:
* Their beginnings, with all the zigs and zags
* The power of prioritizing passion over the dollar
* Their ongoing commitment to exceptional
products and workplace environments
* The obstacles they face as women and
business owners

To top it off, we will be sampling their

amazing products.

About Jill Giacomini Basch

Co-Owner, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company

Jill Giacomini Basch, together with her sisters and their father Bob, launched Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company in August,
2000. On their family dairy, they produce Original Blue, California's only classic-style blue cheese, as well as Bay Blue, Fresh Mozzarella and Toma,
a buttery-flavored anytime table cheese.

The Giacomini's commitment to tradition and excellence is clear from their award-winning cheeses. In 2010, Original Blue was named Best Cheese in
California at the California State Fair and Toma earned a Silver at the World Cheese Awards in London. Most recently Point Reyes Farmstead introduced Fresh Mozzarella, made in the Italian style, and Bay Blue, a rustic-rinded, mild blue cheese with a salted-caramel finish. In 2013 Bay Blue won both the prestigious Good Food Award and the sofie™ Award for Best New Product of the year.

Jill acts as a Managing Partner/Chief Marketing Officer and Director of The Fork business unit, utilizing 12 years of experience in advertising and direct marketing in the hi-tech industry. Her responsibilities at Point Reyes cross various strategic initiatives, including marketing, planning and
brand development.

About Carol Levalley

President, Rustic Bakery

Ten years ago, when Carol Levalley and her husband, Josh Harris, decided to open Rustic Bakery, Carol read every book she could find at the Marin County Libraries about bread, pastry and baking, while testing and perfecting her formulas.

In 2005 they opened The Flat Bread Bakery with Cowgirl Creamery as the first customer. Now the business has grown to 4 cafes in Marin and international distribution of their wholesale baked goods line.

2015 will see Rustic Bakery building and opening a 23,000 sq ft wholesale bakery in Petaluma. Future plans for additional products include a heritage grain cracker line, a wheat free cracker collection and the first gourmet, organic, animal crackers made in charming old fashioned Barnum & Bailey
stylized shapes.

About PeggySmith
Co-Founder, Cowgirl Creamery

Peggy Smith knows her way around a kitchen. Born in Texas and raised in Northern Virginia, she began her culinary career serving hearty
suppers to food and folk music lovers at Gallagher's in Washington, DC. (She was as good with the guitar as she was with the chef's knife, joining open
mic sessions with the likes of Mary Chapin Carpenter.)

Her move to San Francisco in 1976 coincided with the food revolution begun by Alice Waters. Peggy was inspired, and kept her eye on Chez Panisse while developing her cooking skills at places like Noe Valley Bar and Grill in San Francisco, and Mount View Hotel in Calistoga. For the next 17 years, Peggy
worked the stove, preparing dishes made from vegetables just out of the garden, fruit right off the branch, and fish straight out of the sea.

Today, Cowgirl Creamery cheeses are sold to over 500 stores, independent cheese shops, farmers markets and restaurants, and nationally through
Whole Foods Markets.

About Joy Sterling

CEO Iron Horse Vineyards

As CEO of Iron Horse Vineyards since 2006, Joy Sterling grew up in Paris, attended a French school and speaks fluent French. Living in
Europe and traveling extensively, she received an extraordinary education in food and wine.

Joy returned to the United States to study history and economics at Yale University. For her first career, she went into journalism becoming the Deputy
Bureau Chief for ABC Network News in Los Angeles at age 29. In 1985, she joined the family's business. For her first achievement, the White House selected Iron Horse Sparking Wine for the President Reagan's toast to peace at the first summit meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev in Geneva.

There have been many highlights since then with her annual Earth Day fund-raiser at Iron Horse and her appointment to the California State Food & Agriculture Board by Governor Jerry Brown.
