Growing Your Business with Federal Contracting

10am – 2pm

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Houston, Texas

If you sell a product or a service, there is a good chance that the government buys it; and if you are a small business, the opportunity to expand your business is huge, for federal agencies are required to target at least 23% of their spending for small businesses.   In fact, if you are a woman-owned business, Congress set a goal that 5% of federal contracts should be set aside for you.  Right now, women-owned enterprises are awarded 3.3% of the contracts, well short of the 5% goal.  With more than $400 billion dollars in contracts awarded annually, this indicates that there is a lot of money left on the table.

You are not too small to sell to the government – and you can compete successfully.   Even though the process is a bit complex and takes time, there is lots of help available.   And like almost everything else, if you do your homework, think through the process, and  put together a good strategic plan, odds are that you will be successful.

The Give Me 5 initiative is designed to do just that – help you get started, help you navigate the process and help you build a successful plan.   Just starting to consider entering the Federal Marketplace?  Have you won Federal Contracts and want to take it to the next level?
