Doing Your Homework! Utilizing FPDS to Generate Meaningful Marketing Data
Guest Speaker: Marc Violante, Director of Federal Market Strategies for the Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI)
Wednesday, May 31, 2017 * 2:00 eastern / 1:00 central / 11:00 pacific
The Federal Procurement Data System is a public resource that helps to tell the story of federal procurement through data. Gaining an understanding of this system is the first step in assembling actionable information that can assist in developing and executing tailored business strategies. Whether your question is general in nature or specific, FPDS queries can be generated to provide data that can help define the answer. Some searches will only need to use the ezSearch feature. Other questions may be best answered by using a Standard Report and for other questions, creating an Adhoc Query may be the perfect solution. Raw data may tell part of the story and in some cases this data will answer the question. Often though, greater insight and understanding of the data can be obtained with further processing using a common tool such as Excel Pivot Tables. This webinar will provide an overview of the three search tools available in FPDS as well as the basics of turning the data into information by using Excel Pivot Tables.
