AARP Fraud Watch Network

Late last year, AARP launched the Fraud Watch Network…an initiative to educate and engage the aged 50+ population on fraud issues related to scams, financial fraud, and identity theft, among others. Visit www.aarp.org/FraudWatchNetwork and encourage your friends and colleagues to sign up and become part of the Network, as well as to receive alerts and other information about fraud.

Tax ID Theft Awareness Week

This week begins Tax ID Theft Awareness Week (January 13-17). The Federal Trade Commission has taken the lead in providing education about how to help detect and prevent tax ID theft. AARP, among other organizations, is participating in events this week to bring awareness to consumers. Visit www.ftc.gov/TaxIDTheft for more information.

Tool to Help Manage Health Care Costs

AARP recently launched its newest retirement decision tool, the Health Care Costs Calculator.This new tool helps individuals estimate how much they will need for out-of-pocket health care expenses in retirement. It also suggests ways to manage health care costs and provides links to important financial and health resources. Visit www.aarp.org/healthcostscalc.
