WIPP AND THE ADELANTE MOVEMENT ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO FURTHER THE SUCCESS OF WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES
Washington, DC (August 27, 2014) – Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and The Adelante Movement announced a strategic partnership that will allow both organizations to strengthen their ability to advocate for women business owners and work together to help their constituents experience successful business growth. Both WIPP and the Adelante Movement will collaborate on educational programming, events and activities to help nurture and grow women entrepreneurs.
“We are so excited to establish a partnership with The Adelante Movement. This alliance will allow us to reach out and join together with thousands of Latina women and build a powerful voice for the full economic participation of women in our country,” said Barbara Kasoff, WIPP president.
Nely Galán, founder of The Adelante Movement, recently joined WIPP as a keynote speaker at the organization’s Annual Leadership Meeting held in Washington, D.C. As part of that event, attendees had the opportunity to attend a special Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship hearing on barriers faced by women entrepreneurs. Nely Galán had the opportunity to testify at that hearing to express top challenges faced by Latina entrepreneurs. Watch the testimony: http://1.usa.gov/1tvR42T.
“We are delighted to be forging this new relationship between The Adelante Movement and WIPP,” says Galán. “This partnership helps us include Latina entrepreneurs in the national conversations taking place in the private and public sectors. It is Adelante’s mission to work with organizations, such as WIPP, that advocate for the current and future growth of women business owners.”
WIPP is a national nonpartisan public policy organization advocating on behalf of nearly 4.7 million women-owned businesses and representing 78 business organizations. WIPP provides timely economic information, identifies important trends, opportunities and legislative information to its membership and partners, and provides a collaborative model for the public and private sectors to increase the economic power of women-owned businesses.
