The Latino Coalition Proudly Commemorates
Hispanic Heritage Month

WASHINGTON, DC-The Latino Coalition, one of the largest membership and advocacy organizations for Latino-owned small businesses, celebrates and honors Hispanic Heritage Month and the history of leadership the Latino community has afforded the United States.

Every year, the President kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, a tradition that pays tribute to the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the U.S. society and culture.

"As the fastest growing and largest minority group in the United States, Hispanic Americans have helped shape this nation and inspired every aspect of American life," said Hector Barreto, TLC's Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. "For generations, Hispanics have contributed to our national diversity and enhanced this country's growth and prosperity through the arts, sciences, sports, business, military and policymaking fields. As a vibrant, ethnically rich and faithful community, we are proud of the contributions Hispanics have made to this country and the role we have played and continue to play in America. This month, we acknowledge those important contributions to this great nation and the history that we all share as Americans."

ABOUT THE LATINO COALITION-The Latino Coalition (TLC) was founded in 1995 by a group of Hispanic business owners from across the country to research and develop policies relevant to Latinos. TLC is a non-profit nationwide organization with offices in California, Washington, DC and Guadalajara, Mexico. Established to address policy issues that directly affect the well being of Hispanics in the United States, TLC's agenda is to develop initiatives and partnerships that will foster economic equivalency and enhance overall business, economic and social development for Latinos.
