WIPP Leads the Small Business Saturday Coalition to Another Record Breaking Year for Small Business WIPP is proud to lead the national grassroots efforts for Small Business Saturday, engaging Communities and Public Officials in support of the Shop Small message. We can proudly say that 2014 was another banner year for the initiative with Communities, Mayors, Congress and the Administration engaging their full support in the effort. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the WIPP members that helped us throughout the course of the campaign! Here is a quick overview of the success of WIPP’s Coalition: - President Obama in shopping at a local DC Bookstore
- SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet in rallying the small business community
- The United States Senate in issuing a resolution recognizing Small Business Saturday
- Members of Congress in shopping and posting photos on their social media
- Over 450 Mayors in all 50 States and the District of Columbia recognizing Small Business Saturday
- 386 Community Organizations, from large national organizations like AARP and the National Retail Federation down to the feet on local streets like Baltimore’s Pigtown Main Street and the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway
What a thrilling sight to see so many people out “Shopping Small” and to see so many small businesses packed with shoppers. Remember, Small Business Saturday may be one day a year, but we encourage you to Shop Small year round!
