Welcome to the New Year!



2014 has been a GREAT year for us:

  • FOCUS Fellows raised over $10 million dollars in Angel and Venture Funding (including Kellee James (FF '12), who raised a $2.5 million Series A round, Nichelle McCall (FF'13) and Nicole Sanchez (FF '13) who both raised close to 7 figure seed rounds).
  • FOCUS Fellow program expanded to 10 weeks with 7 terrific FOCUS Fellows and their companies successfully completing the program
  • DID startedimportant nationalconversationson issues surrounding tech and diversity
  • The DID community Ignited social media with 250m+ impressions during the #FOCUS100 conference
  • Kathryn and the DID team toured the country's top cities to inspire more urban entrepreneurs to be part of the tech industry.
  • DID was featured in over 60 press hits, including this piece in Wired magazine

For the third year in a row, DID will have a significant presence at SXSW. New for 2015 is the DID HOUSE for FOCUS Fellows and friends of DID. And of course, our 3rd Annual SXSW Party Hosted by Pandora.

(a health and beauty company for Blacks and Latinos), Hampton Creek Foods, Good Eggs, Alt School, and InVenture. He mentors at Code 2040.
