Click to view the Global Responsibility ReportAt Walmart, we believe that business exists to serve society. For our business, serving society on one level means bringing affordable products and services to 260 million customers in 27 countries around the world. More broadly though, serving society means using our strengths to address pressing social and environmental issues in collaboration with customers, suppliers, governments, non-profits, and other stakeholders.

Yesterday, we released our FY15 Global Responsibility Report. It tells the story of the work we're now doing worldwide to advance opportunity, sustainability, and community. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Enhanced associate opportunity, retail workforce mobility, diversity and inclusion.
  • Awarded $47 million in grants to local community organizations.
  • Sourced from and trained more women.
  • Hired more than 77,000 veterans since Memorial Day 2013.
  • Worked to eliminate 20 million metric tons of GHG emissions from our global supply chain by the end of 2015.

Learn more about our commitments and initiatives by viewing this year's full report.

I welcome your feedback, and hope you'll consider how we can work even more closely together to make meaningful changes that improve people's lives.

Sincerely,

tony
