We Asked For It - We Got It

Small business contracting reforms, including WIPP’s priorities, were included in this year’s national defense bill.

WIPP members continue to press Congress to improve the rules and regulations used by the federal government to procure its goods and services.  Passed by the House Small Business Committee earlier this year, many of WIPP’s requests were included in H.R. 1481 (“The Small Contractors Improve Competition Act”).

Rolled into a much larger, must-pass bill, known as the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2016 (H.R 1735), the small business contracting reforms are expected to pass the House.  Key changes included in the bill limit reverse auctions, limit contract bundling, and improve the certification for SBA procurement center representatives and commercial market representatives. More can be found on WIPP’s Procurement page.
