Amendment to Omnibus which would have Eliminated Sole Sourcing of Government Contracts was Rejected

On March 4, Senator Coburn’s amendment number 596 which would have required all contracts, grants and cooperative agreements awarded under the Omnibus bill to be competitively bid, was rejected by the Senate with a vote of 38 yeas/ 57 nays.  To view the amendment go to: http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&FileStore_id=522935e0-5ce9-494c-85d9-6e8cd0151b74
