On March 26th, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure examined the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program, which provides women and minority contractors with the opportunity to compete for highway, transit, and airport construction contracts under federal transportation funding programs. Since major programs, such as surface transportation and aviation programs will be reauthorized in this session of Congress, this hearing will assist the Committee in shaping the future of the DOT DBE program.
