Dear Jason,

Across Cincinnati Public Schools, many students did not have access to breakfast in the morning, forcing them to wait several hours until lunch to eat their first meal of the day.

The Walmart Foundation, along withAction for Healthy Kids, helped fund a nutrition program to level the playing field and serve the 35,000 students in the Cincinnati district. Now, breakfast options are available in their classrooms, salad bars with fresh produce are in their lunchrooms, and healthily-stocked vending machines fill their hallways.

With students and teachers heading back to school, the Walmart Foundation is donating $10.5 million that will further its commitment to increase access to food and nutrition education for children across numerous states.

Filling Stomachs, and Fueling Minds

We look to continue leveraging our scale to spread the positive impact that consistent, balanced nutrition has on students' minds - and ultimately, their academic success.

We hope you're having a wonderful summer and wish you the best as the back-to-school season kicks off.
