The Latino Coalition Chairman Hector Barreto Congratulates

Allen Gutierrez on Recent Appointment by Maryland Gov. Larry

Hogan to Commission on Hispanic Affairs

 

 

WASHINGTON, DC-The Latino Coalition (TLC), one of the largest membership and advocacy organizations for Latino-owned small businesses, issued the following statement today regarding TLC's National Executive Director, Allen Gutierrez being appointed by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan to Chair of a Commission on Hispanic Affairs.

 

The commission represents and engages the Hispanic community in partnership with state government to promote social, cultural, and business interests.

 

The purpose of the commission is to identify the issues affecting Hispanics and develop the appropriate responses and programs, including conducting outreach to Hispanic groups and communities in the state; communicating information concerning public and private programs; reviewing and commenting on legislation and regulation; and making recommendations on matters affecting the general health, safety, and welfare of the Hispanic population in Maryland.

 

"We congratulate Allen on his recent appointment as Chair of the Maryland Commission on Hispanic Affairs," said Hector Barreto, TLC Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. "Allen's longstanding leadership, knowledge and commitment to Hispanic issues will contribute to the commission's policy work for this growing and vibrant ethnic community. We commend him for his advocacy in regards to this growing sector of the population and we look forward to the work the commission will do under his guidance."
