Mid-Tier Advocacy Event Highlights Diversity and Sustainability

Women-owned companies that have exceeded their size standards face a unique set of challenges in federal contracting according to Mid-Tier Advocacy. During the Congressional Black Caucus week, Mid-Tier Advocacy brought together speakers from both the public and private sectors to discuss mid-size businesses’ navigation of the federal market.

Moderated by MTA founder and WIPP member Tonya Saunders, the eleven speakers came from both public and private backgrounds. Jackie Robinson-Burnette of the Small Business Administration and Angela Washington of the Minority Business Development Agency stressed the importance of working with small business advocates and using market intelligence. Though the panel highlighted a range of challenges, most speakers were optimistic about future gains for small businesses.
