WIPP sat down with this month's National Partner of the Month - Rhonda Johnson to hear a little more about her business and relationship with WIPP.
Tell us a little about your company and its mission.
End2End Technical Solutions, Inc. (End2End) is a Woman Owned Small Business composed of dynamic individuals with diverse expertise. End2End is a leader in providing essential cost effective IT solutions that are crucial to maximizing the profitability of our clients. Our services are guaranteed to provide our clients with sustainable competitive advantages that will give them an unparalleled advantage over their competitors. Our core competencies revolve around Software Development, Systems Engineering, Program Management, Management Consulting, Leadership Consulting, Cloud Development, Cyber Security, Big Data and Analytics Solutions, Application Development, and Training.
Have you always been an entrepreneur? If not, what, or who, inspired you to take this leap?
Before beginning End2End Technical Solutions, Inc. I was the president of Vision Systems & Technology, Inc. (VSTI) a small Information Technology company located in Ellicott City. VSTI sold to SAS Institute in 2010, at which time I decided I had enough experience to operate a business. Therefore, with the backing of a large company, I stepped out on faith to begin End2End.
Have you advocated for an issue or a cause important to you (for example: called or written to your elected official, spoken publicly, or written an op-ed).
Advocating for policies that improve the chances of women-owned small business success in the Federal government is an activity that I consider important to the growth of our economy. I have been actively involved with WIPP for the past two years. My involvement has included participation in several letter writing campaigns to senators and Hill visits advocating for change to the Women Owned Small Business Policy. Additionally, as a member and past president of my local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I am involved in advocating for Voting Rights for community members as well as other social issues.
Do you have a contracting success story that you are proud of?
While it is sometimes difficult for small businesses with little to no company past performance to obtain prime contracts in the Federal government, I am happy to have been successful obtaining subcontracts on Department of Defense opportunities through partnerships with large business primes. Recently, I was a part of a five-year contract that provides system engineering support to the IC Information Technology Enterprise (ICITE) program. My partnership with the prime, KEYW has been one that has enabled my company to grow in the Department of Defense. KEYW has been a real partner and mentor to my company. I am happy the organization had faith in my company and that we were chosen as one of the subcontractors to satisfy the ICITE program requirements. I look forward to continued partnerships that lead to new opportunities for End2End and the agency we support.
Tell us about your experience as a WIPP Member? What resources/value has WIPP provided that has been helpful to you and your company?
My WIPP membership has been valuable to the growth of my company, particularly in the area of obtaining knowledge on procurement activities and Federal policies. End2End’s association with WIPP has provided us with the opportunity to engage in WIPP training activities, to participate in WIPP networking activities, to participate in Give Me 5 activities, and the opportunity to add input to the focus areas of WIPP through participation on the Leadership Advisory Council and Procurement Committee. I have been extremely happy with the success of WIPP and look forward to continued engagement with the organization to ensure the mission requirements of the organization are met.
