Geithner Remarks on Stress Tests

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Thursday, May 7th, that stress tests of the country's top 19 banks would help restore confidence and encourage lending, but warned there was still a way to go.

"This is just the beginning and we are going to keep working to try and make sure this financial system is in ... a strong enough position so it can provide the credit necessary for recovery," Geithner said in brief remarks ahead of the release of the stress test results at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
