WIPP Releases Economic Trends Survey

WIPP has commissioned a survey with AllPoints Research, Inc., "Surviving or Thriving in the Current Economy" and presented the results at the Chicago Regional Meeting, Economic Opportunity and the New Economy, held May 21, 2009.
The survey looked at growth opportunity markets and confirmed that significantly more business owners perceive opportunities in the public sector than in the private sector. Key market areas for growth, whether in the public or private sector however, are energy, infrastructure, homeland security and military. The opportunities, according to participants, lie in the new “environmental industry” that is being built now, providing services to the corporations that are going after stimulus dollars, and creating platforms for sharing of medical records. Half of the survey participants believe the federal stimulus package represents growth opportunities for their companies, and intends to seek out those opportunities, but as of now only 33% have identified the opportunities and express concern in knowing how to proceed. The survey data explored perceptions of the economy and its financial impact on our companies and our lives, funding and collaboration strategies, and growth strategy insights.
