WIPP AND THE FLORIDA 8(A) ALLIANCE ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO FURTHER THE SUCCESS OF WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES IN GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING
Washington, DC (February 8, 2016) – Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and Florida 8(a) Alliance announced a strategic partnership that will allow both organizations to strengthen their ability to advocate for women business owners and work together to help their members experience positive business growth. Both WIPP and Florida 8 (a) Alliance will collaborate on educational programming and public policy activities to provide women business owners doing business with the government with resources they need to succeed.
“We are very excited to establish a partnership with Florida 8 (a) Alliance. This alliance will allow us to join together to assist women business owners working in the government contracting arena,” said Kristie Arslan, WIPP executive director. “Collaboration is key to creating a collective voice for women in business that allows all of us to help women achieve continued economic independence and business success.”
The Florida 8(a) Alliance was established to strengthen, train, educate, and promote 8(a) and small business firms in Florida by strengthening the relationship between federal customers, prime contractors and the 8(a) business program. Promoting a strong network of entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Florida and providing education to business owners to grow, prosper and mentor each other are key aims for the organization.
“The Florida 8(a) Alliance believes that partnering with organizations such as WIPP assists women business owners and strengthens the small business community especially in the defense industry.” stated Stephanie Landing, Florida 8(a) Alliance executive director. “We look forward to participating and creating new educational opportunities to benefit women in business”.
