As you know, Walmart has a long-standing commitment to fighting hunger and we are dedicated to helping ensure families have access to affordable, nutritious and sustainably grown food. With the USDA reporting that one in seven Americans may struggle with hunger, we know that hunger remains a serious issue for many families.
As the nation's largest grocer with more than 140 million customers shopping in our stores each week, we believe Walmart is uniquely positioned to take the lead on the issue of hunger in the U.S. As the latest example of our ongoing commitment to hunger relief, we are proud to launch our "Fight Hunger. Spark Change." campaign that will run through April 25th.
Walmart is kicking off the campaign with aninitial donation of $1.5 millionto Feeding America, with thegoal of reaching a total donation of $3 millionbased on the public's social media participation. The campaign has agoal of securing the equivalent of 75 million mealsfor Feeding America and its member food banks across the country.
There are three easy ways to get involved and help fight hunger in your local community:
- Purchase: Purchase participating products in Walmart stores to help provide meals for families who struggle with hunger in your local community.
- Online Acts of Support: Generate donations for Feeding America food banks by using #FightHunger on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, sharing and liking campaign posts on Facebook, showing support on www.walmart.com/fighthunger and using unique Snapchat filters in select stores.

By joining together with Feeding America, our suppliers and our customers, we can make a positive difference in the fight against hunger by generating millions of meals that will make a real difference for families struggling with hunger.
I encourage you to take time and hear from Reverand Chianti below.
