Dear Jason,

We're excited to announce that Cycle 2 of this year's State Giving Program opens today and runs through April 18th. The Walmart Foundation needs your help spreading the word, and getting organizations who serve the needs of your community to apply.

In this cycle, eligible charitable organizations providing services inselect states may apply for grant funding for programs specifically aligned to the focused giving pillars of hunger relief and healthy eating, career opportunity and disaster preparedness. We'll let you know when Cycle 3 and 4 open later in the year which award grants for more broad-based community-focused programs and initiatives.

Here are some examples of grants that the State Giving Program supported from the last cycle:

  • $100,000 for the Urban League of Central Carolinas to support trainers and materials needed to equip under/unemployed individuals with soft skills that lead to career opportunity and living wage employment.
  • $65,000 for South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind to purchase scanners and software to allow blind and visually impaired workers to be trained for and work in a retail environment.
  • $25,000 for Women Helping Women to support program expenses required to provide free job readiness training and support services to 8,000 disadvantaged job seekers

Learn more about the State Giving Program, apply for a grant or encourage organizations in your community to apply.

Thanks to the work of great partners like you, the Walmart Foundation has been able to make a difference in people's lives by supporting organizations which are strengthening local communities. We look forward to continuing to work with outstanding organizations that make a difference all around us. Please don't hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.
