VIENNA, VA (August 2009)—The Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Contracting Center awarded the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) Comprehensive Support Services (CSS) contract to five prime contractors including Lanmark Technology, (LMT) Inc. The JIEDDO CSS contract is designed to give the organization greater long-term support and continuity of its contractor personnel in its mission to defeat improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The IED has become a global, strategic threat, and this overarching, omnibus, contract will provide JIEDDO greater flexibility and speed in supporting new requirements. The JIEDDO CSS contract is an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle which enables JIEDDO to issue Task Orders for individual personnel support requirements. The first Task Order for JIEDDO’s Technology Requirements and Integration Division (TRID) was awarded to Lanmark Technology, Inc. The award of Task 1 is LMT’s first full and open competitive win.
Lanmark Technology, Inc.’s team consisted of four subcontractors: Pragmatics, Inc., The Mayvin Consulting Group, Inc., EWA Information & Infrastructure Technologies, Inc., and Halfaker & Associates, LLC. Of the five members of the winning team, three are Service Disabled Veteran-owned businesses, three are Women-owned businesses, three are small businesses, two are Asian-American-owned businesses, two are SBA 8(a) certified businesses, and one has graduated from the SBA 8(a) program. Each of the three companies who have participated in the SBA 8(a) program were managed and mentored by the SBA Washington Metropolitan Area District Office.
“As a value added partner with the Federal Government in providing support services that are multi-disciplinary in nature and meet a wide range of challenging and complex requirements, LMT brings best business practices to its clients assisting the government with running efficiently and effectively. The innovative technology and business processes that LMT has developed and implemented for the Department of Defense have not only resulted in tax payer savings, but have also saved lives,” said Hay. “Lanmark Technology, Inc. and its team members are proud to be supporting the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Organization (JIEDDO) under the leadership of Lieutenant General Thomas F. Metz, United States Army.”
The Joint Improvised Explosive Device Organization (JIEDDO) is the Department of Defense's lead counter-IED organization, dedicated to winning the fight against IEDs using all available resources. Working hand-in-hand with military, government, academic, industry, and international partners, Lanmark Technology, Inc. and its team members are assisting JIEDDO in rapidly finding, developing, and delivering emerging capabilities to counter the IED threat.
