Women in Finance Update from Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States: Women Encouraged to Apply for Treasury Positions
Last March, Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States, organized the Women in Finance Symposium. The purpose of the Symposium was to recognize the role that women in the administration and the private sector were playing in the economic recovery, connect business organizations in support of Women in Finance and inspire future generations of women and girls who are considering finance, economic or business as a career.
One of the follow-up recommendations approved by Secretary Geithner was to continue to encourage women to apply for vacant positions in Treasury. Most recently, we have initiated a recruitment for the Director of the newly formed Office of Minority and Women Inclusion per the link below.
You may have heard that the formation of this office resulted from the approval of the Dodd-Frank Act in July, and we expect that the office will be up and running in early 2011.
