GAYLE WALDRON AWARDED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SUCCESS
Washington, DC (March 21, 2011) – Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) member Gayle Waldron, President of The Management Edge, Inc., was honored with two prestigious awards during the month of March for her outstanding entrepreneurial success and her advocacy for other women business owners.
Waldron is one of the recipients of the prestigious Enterprising Women of the Year Award, received at the 9th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Gala at the Boca Raton Resort in Boca Raton, FL. Hosted by Enterprising Women Magazine, the annual award recognizes top women entrepreneurs who have demonstrated business excellence, mentorship of other women business owners, and leadership in the Women owned business community.
Waldron was also named one of the 50 Women of Influence and Power at the Minority Enterprise Advocate (MEA) Magazine awards luncheon in Washington DC. The Applauding Courage and Success themed luncheon honored 50 of the most successful women business leaders across the United States. The event was hosted by MEA Magazine, a publication of the Minority Enterprise Executive Council (MEEC), an organization helping small/minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses to attain strength and economic empowerment by increasing their business relationships and partnerships in public and private sectors.
Waldron calls her company, founded in 1986, a "not for profit only” business, believing strongly that business is about more than making a living, it is about making a living in an ethical way that genuinely improves the situation of the client, the company, and the community. "A big part of both of these awards is the mentoring and giving back to the community, which should be an essential part of any business,” said Waldron.
Waldron advocates women owned businesses through her involvement as a National Founding Partner and member of the Board of Directors of WIPP. WIPP is a nationalnonpartisan public policy organization that advocates for and on behalf of women and minorities in business in the legislative processes, creating economic opportunities and building bridges and alliances to other small business organizations. She is also a national member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and is active in the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which certifies businesses as genuinely women owned and managed.
