The National Women Business Owners Corporation Honors The Walt Disney World Resort's Supplier Diversity Excellence

Lake Forrest, FL (July 5, 2011) -- The National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) honors July, 2011 Supplier Diversity Managers of the Month, Matt Thursman and Mary Lynn Netzel of The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

The NWBOC honors individuals in the supplier diversity field who go above and beyond to see that Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) receive opportunities to competitively bid on corporate and government contracts. Honorees are nominated by NWBOC Certified Women Business Enterprises (WBEs).

Thursman is the Manager of Minority Business Development for The Walt Disney World Resort where he manages the Supplier Diversity Program for the Walt Disney Resorts through partnerships with internal departments in Florida and California, as well as relevant business organizations throughout the United States. He identifies qualified and certified MWBEsand matches them against Disney's procurement and bidding opportunities.

"Matt is firm, fair and consistent," said Cindy Lou Hartig, ofInformation Technology and Data Solutions, Inc., who nominated the two for this honor. "When he sees thatMWBEs are not getting notified of bid opportunities, he goes to the source and finds out why. We are invited to bid and have the same chance as the larger companies.”

Netzel is a Sourcing Specialist and Contract Administrator forThe Walt Disney World Resort. She insures that pre-qualified and certified MWBEs have bid opportunities to competitively bid on both design and construction projects for Disney. "Because of Mary Lynn, we received our master contract and she made it her mission to promote us as a NWBOCcertifiedWBE," added Harting.
