The Management Edge Named Top Woman-Owned Business in Tampa Bay Area
Largo, FL (September 13, 2011) -- International training firm, The Management Edge, has been named one of the top 70 Women-Owned Businesses (WOBs) in the Tampa Bay area by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Headquartered in Largo, FL, The Management Edge is an Organization Development and training firm specializing in workplace interactions, team building and change management.
Founded by Gayle Waldron in 1986, the firm is known for dramatically increasing performance and productivity by working with teams to remove the inter-personal obstacles to completing technical tasks. By resolving issues between employees, the good intentions of co-workers are realized, alignment is built and goals are achieved more efficiently.
Waldron also has 17 years of experience as a federal government contractor, which she uses to help other businesses grow, especially WOBs. She has been instrumental in helping both the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Congress understand underlying issues women in business face and has helped develop strategies to combat these inequities.
Waldron was one of many women who dedicated the past 10 years to working toward the passage of SBA's Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program. "There are many fully competent WOSBs that can handle large and complicated contracts and deliver expertise and skills needed by our government,” said Waldron. "The program's success will prove that.”
