Annette Taddeo-Goldstein to attend White House signing of Colombia Free Trade Agreement by President Obama
Miami, Florida. Annette Taddeo-Goldstein, founder and CEO of LanguageSpeak, a nationally recognized translation services company, and Colombian American business leader, will be in attendance at the White House Rose Garden signing of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement by President Barack Obama at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 21, 2011.
Taddeo-Goldstein has been actively advocating and working with the Obama Administration, previous administration, and members of Congress for the passage of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
"It is an honor to be invited to witness the signing of the Colombia, Panama and South Korea Free Trade Agreements,” said Taddeo-Goldstein. "This the culmination of many years of hard work to expand export of US goods, create jobs, and strengthen all our economies," said Taddeo-Goldstein.
"I applaud President Obama for his commitment to sign the agreementsand ensure quick implementation,"Taddeo-Goldstein stressed. "Over70% of goods to Colombia will be tariff free upon implementation of the agreement, and the remaining tariffs will be phased out in the following 10 years. Thiswill help create many needed jobsin the US, especially in Florida whereColombia is already our second largest trading partner."
In a conference call Friday, October 14th, 2011,hosted by Taddeo-Goldstein, Dan Restrepo, President Obama's Senior Advisor on Latin America, stated, "Colombia and Panama are two of our best partners in the Americas. ThisAdministration worked hard with previous and current officials in Colombia and Panamato improve the agreements, and get them passed with broad support from both parties." Restrepo said, "These agreements are good for our country, workers, businesses, and will create jobs here and in our trade partner countries."
