Be Part of the Shop Small Movement

Shop Small is a movement encouraging people to shop at small businessesThis movement, now in its fifth year, celebrates shopping small on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  There is an opportunity for WIPP Coalition Partners and their members to join together to make Saturday, November 29th, 2014 a banner day for small businesses across the county.

For Coalition Partners and their affiliates/chapters, one registration is all that is needed to receive information for a successful Small Business Saturday experience.  WIPP thanks the many Coalition Partners who have already joined the Small Business Saturday Coalition.  Our new request is that you spread the word to your affiliates/chapters and ask them to engage like you have.  Note: there is no cost to participate.

  •  Small Business Saturday Coalition Sign Up – provides the Small Business Saturday toolkit: digital banners, copy point, logos, social posts, press release.  These materials are designed to help spread the word to businesses who are part of a business association.

For Coalition Partners that reach retail business owners, please convey that the following action is needed for individual stores to become engaged:

  • Sign up their own store at ShopSmall: Receive individual store Small Business Saturday marketing materials including: printable signage and free online ads for Small Business Saturday from American Express, Yelp and Microsoft Bing.  Email templates, sample social media posts, and more are also available. For qualifying American Express Card accepting small merchants, their stores may be participate in the American Express Card member offer for Small Business Saturday and appear on the Shop Small Map.

Role for retail consumers: By shopping and dining at small businesses on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year, they show support for all the small businesses throughout our neighborhoods and reinvest in the community they call home!   American Express Cardholders should watch out for information on how to register their cards to get $10 back three times when shopping at three different small businesses on November 29th (a total of $30 in statement credits!)

Get your neighborhood to #ShopSmall with you on Nov 29 by sharing what makes your business unique.
