WIPP Announces National Award Winners in Women Business Leadership at Annual Meeting

WASHINGTON, DC -- Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the nation’s largest nonpartisan public policy group advocating for women in business, recently announced recipients of the 2014 WIPP Awards during its 14th Annual Leadership Meeting in Washington, D.C.  The awards honor individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the growth and goals of women-owned businesses and entrepreneurship.

The 2014 WIPP Award recipients are:

WIPP Member to Watch: An industry leader who has shown themselves to be innovative and accomplished in their line of business and has benefited the women's business community.

o   Louisa Jaffe, President/CEO, TAPE, of Alexandria, VA


Give Me Five: Recognizes a member who has effectively leveraged Give Me 5 tools and resources.

o   Maria Panichelli, Attorney at Law, Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC, of Philadelphia


WIPP & AT&T Innovator of the Year: Recognizes a member who has effectively leveraged technology for innovation and success in business.

o   Charlotte Baker, CEO, Digital Hands, of Tampa, Fla.


Member of the Year: Outstanding commitment of vision and resources in service to WIPP as an organization and to the membership-at-large.

o   Angela Dingle, President, Ex Nihilo Management, LLC of Washington, DC


Public Policy Award: Presented to a member who sets an example of the power each of us has by becoming actively engaged in the political process.

o   Fran Pastore, President/CEO, Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC), of Stamford, Conn.


President’s Award: Presented to a woman who has exercised commitment to WIPP and contributed to the business community in a positive fashion over the past year.  

o   Letty Velez, President/CEO, Chicago Mini Bus Travel, Inc., of Franklin Park, Ill.


“We are proud to recognize these leaders who are more than successful business leaders,” said WIPP President Barbara Kasoff.  “They are active citizens who are participating in leading our nation’s economic recovery and are making a positive impact in their communities and industries.”
