ENEWS Welcome - July 2015

Celebrate With Us at WIPP’s 2015 Annual Dinner in Washington, DC!

by Kristie Arslan, WIPP Executive Director

We’ve had an exciting year at WIPP!  With your help and the support of our coalition partners, we were victorious in our efforts to improve the Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Procurement Program with the addition of Sole Source Authority.  A big win that will increase contracting opportunities for women business owners.  We successfully launched WIPP’s Federal Contracting Certificate Program and our new National Directory of Women-Owned Small Businesses, the premier repository of women federal contractors marketed to contract officers and prime vendors to help increase contract opportunities for women.  WIPP has also taken the first step to addressing another important issue facing women entrepreneurs with the release of our new access to capital platform - Breaking the Bank: Women Entrepreneurs & the Need for Capital.  In addition, WIPP continues throughout the year to provide top quality education and events focused on helping women grow their businesses while also ensuring our members had access to leadership and advocacy opportunities to enhance the visibility of your companies.

It is now time to celebrate these achievements and many more at WIPP’s 2015 Annual Dinner Celebration, held on July 14, 2015 from 6:30pm to 10:00pm at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, D.C.  Please join us as we highlight our successes and share big news of upcoming events and programs at WIPP.   If you are not a WIPP member, when you purchase your ticket to our dinner you will receive the added benefit of a 1-year WIPP Annual Membership allowing you to access important WIPP benefits.

At this event we will also be honoring WIPP’s Co-Founder and President Barbara Kasoff, who has announced her retirement as of the end of July.  For those of you who know Barbara, you know she has been an unstoppable force for over 14 years, establishing WIPP in 2001 to ensure women business owners had a voice and a seat at the table to impact change in our nation’s capital.  Engagement, collaboration and community have been key elements of WIPP’s success. From our inception WIPP has worked to build a big tent to attract a wide array of women business owners and partners in the public and private sectors, with the goal of engaging and assisting as many women entrepreneurs as possible.  These are the values that Barbara has imbued into this organization as she has led it these many years, and these are the values that will continue on as we grow.

Please join us for this special event and spend an evening with accomplished women entrepreneurs, hearing from Members of Congress and leaders on what is ahead for the women business owner community and learn about upcoming events and programs that could help you impact change and grow your business.
