WASHINGTON – The United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship today unanimously reported the confirmation of Karen Gordon Mills to serve as Administrator of the Small Business Administration.  The Committee earlier today held a confirmation hearing for Mills.  More information from the hearing is available online at

“I am pleased that the Small Business Committee reported the confirmation of Karen Mills today,” said Small Business Committee Chair Mary Landrieu.  “I believe she has the right mix of experience and education and a willingness to serve that will benefit her in this challenging position.  As our new SBA Administrator, Ms. Mills will be an extraordinary role model for entrepreneurs across America.  I hope the full Senate will act swiftly to confirm President Obama’s nominee and bring new, fresh leadership to the SBA.”

“I am pleased that our Committee has unanimously approved Karen Mills’ nomination,” said Ranking Member Snowe.  “Karen is a talented and intelligent entrepreneur, and she will bring her vast experience, remarkable intellect, and exceptional creativity to the SBA as a strong and passionate advocate for America’s 27 million small businesses.  I urge the full Senate to approve her nomination before we recess this week.”
