Across the country, women-owned businesses have successfully partnered with the federal government to create jobs and economic opportunity. Women serve as the bedrock of the US economy, controlling more than 60% of personal wealth in the US and accounting for roughly 85% of all consumer spending. 

As we look ahead, it is critical to preserve the stability and integrity of the SBA, which serves as a lifeline for America’s small businesses. Recent reports regarding the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) access to sensitive SBA systems raise concerns about potential disruptions to agency operations and the small business programs entrepreneurs rely on. WIPP will continue advocating for a strong and fully resourced SBA to ensure small businesses receive the support they need.

For more than two decades, WIPP has worked closely with the SBA to strengthen programs like the WOSB Federal Contracting Program, expand access to capital, and support women entrepreneurs in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence. We look forward to continuing this collaboration to foster economic growth and ensure women-owned businesses have the tools they need to succeed.
